OP3N, a startup that aims to bring together content creators, chat rooms and e-commerce in a single platform, has raised $28 million in a successful Series A funding round. With this investment, the company’s Superapp, an artificial intelligence-based chat platform, will be developed to become the “WhatsApp and Amazon, or WeChat and Alibaba” for the Web3 industry, incorporating blockchain and decentralized technology into its interfaces.
OP3N CEO Jason Ma believes that the Superapp will bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3, offering users a seamless experience that combines communication, commerce and content in one place. The app will allow for the integration of audio, video and mixed-media content to enhance interactions on the web.
The funding round was led by Animoca Brands, a company that invests in blockchain-based games and digital assets, and included participation from other notable investors such as Dragonfly Capital, SuperScrypt, Creative Artists Agency, Connect Ventures New Enterprise Associates, Republic Crypto, Avalanche’s Blizzard Fund, Galaxy Digital and Warner Music Interactive. GSR Markets, The Spartan Group, BRV Capital Management and NBA player Russell Westbrook also contributed to the funding.
OP3N’s Superapp has been valued at $100 million following the successful funding round. The company plans to use the investment to further develop and expand its platform, with a focus on enhancing its features and capabilities. With the support of its investors, OP3N aims to become a major player in the Web3 industry, offering a new and innovative approach to communication, commerce and content integration.
